Anchored in Marcos’ Four Quadrant model --psycho-social, environ-mental, psycho-inductive,sensory-synesthetic – we seek to create a multi-sensory prototype with a “hub and spokes” intention. The Hub, located in a rural setting, will connect to accessible “spokes” in asset rich/income poor communities, creating an urban-rural linkage. The Center for Centering imagines creatively designed spaces that connect light, sounds, and texture to inspire individuals to connect creative inner exploration to everyday practice in daily life, resonating out to communal integrity. We also envision simple living, “anti-fragile” spaces for visitors and residents.

The "Hub" will provide a space to convene, a space to experiment, a space to be peaceful.  It will be a space for imagination, a space to “dream up” and serve as a research incubator with the potential to replicate practices and build models out into community spaces.  Rest pods located at the Center will explore how architecture and space can become comforting, how design can positively impact experience.  Winding, non-linear pathways will meander through inductive gardens offering multi-sensory engagement and the potential for healing beyond the boundaries of established therapies.
